Oak Hills Research  Announces New Management

Oak Hills Research is proud to announce new ownership and a new era of engineering development of quality QRP kit products.

Positive Customer Impact

Incoming President Dennis Markell, N1IMW, will continue popular legacy products to meet customer demand including the OHR Wattmeter WM-2, Frequency Meter DD-1 and the 100 watt OHR Dummy Load.   Markell confirms “We are proud of the OHR legacy products fostered by Doug DeMaw, Dick Witzke and Marshall Emm and we look forward to meeting customer demand for these high quality QRP products.”

Engineering Expertise

“We are also pleased to announce joint efforts with industry innovator Rex Harper, W1REX, of QRPme”  added Markell.  Harper brings over 20 years of innovation including an expanded Rockmite lineup and a creative TUNA TIN portfolio of products.  Harper holds a BSEE from University of Maine and Markell holds a BA from Boston College and currently holds a 3.2 GPA in EE Tech at New Hampshire Technical Institute.

Product Availability

While most parts for legacy products are on hand, a full inventory of parts will be completed by year end.  Product Manuals are available immediately with no increase in price from the last published catalogue in 2021 (copyright protected).

Founded in 1984, Oak Hills Research is a longtime leader in QRP kit gear, including the renown OHR WM-2 wattmeter - sensitive to 5% on its lowest power range of 0 to .1 watt.  Dick Witzke assumed ownership in 1989 until long-time owner Marshall Emm took control in 1999.

WM-2 : Proven, Accurate, Analog

The Oak Hills Research WM-2 was designed specifically for the QRP operator. The unit operates from 300 KHz to 54 MHz. It will measure forward and reflected power at QRP levels down to 5mW.
